It safely supports users up to 25 stone (158kg) and folds away against the wall when it is not in use. Choose it unpadded, or with grey or blue padding on the seat, back and arms – the blue gives strong colour contrast.

Thoughtful details make it a favourite for adaptations: ribbed arm and seat surfaces give extra grip during side transfers, the hinges are shrouded to reduce the risk of trapped fingers, and the polyurethane padding will not absorb water even if it is cut or damaged.

Key features & benefits

Rust-proof aluminium frame with back and arms

Safe working load of 25st (158kg)

Seat height set at installation between 450mm and 625mm

±13mm foot adjustment to compensate for floor gradient

Ribbed arm and seat surfaces for better grip during side transfers

Polyurethane padding that will not absorb water; removable for cleaning

Shrouded hinges to reduce finger trapping

Two mounting brackets for wall fixing

Choosing your seat

The unpadded seat (01111) is the most hygienic option where a seat is shared. Fit it to a solid masonry wall, or to a stud wall that has been properly reinforced with a pattress board or noggins, using fixings suited to the wall and the load. Wall fixings are not normally supplied, because the correct fixing depends on your wall. Check for hidden pipes and cables before drilling, and follow AKW's fitting instructions. Where the seat is being fitted for a specific person, an occupational therapist can advise on the best seat height and position.

Sizes & product codes

Padding

AKW code

EAN

No Padding

01111

5055295159396

Grey Padded Seat, Back & Arms

01122

5055295162891

Blue Padded Seat, Back & Arms

01123

–

Technical specification

Range

AKW 1000 Series

Frame

Aluminium (rust-proof)

Padding

Polyurethane (padded models), removable

Safe working load

25st / 158kg

Seat height

450–625mm, set at installation

Foot adjustment

±13mm

Wall fixing

Two mounting brackets

Warranty

AKW lifetime warranty

Frequently asked questions

Does the seat have a back and arms?

Yes – the 1000 Series seat has a backrest and arms as standard.

Can I buy replacement pads?

Yes – grey and blue arm and seat pad kits are available separately.

Is it suitable for a sloping wet room floor?

Yes – the foot adjusts by ±13mm to keep the seat level.

What is the maximum user weight?

25 stone (158kg).

Downloads

1000 Series shower seat specification sheet (PDF)

Need help choosing?

Not sure which option is right?
