It is a flexible, one-component product: open the tub, stir and apply – there is no powder to mix. Its big advantage is speed: you can tile over it in around 4 hours, so a wet room can often be tanked and tiled on the same day.

Choose the complete AKW tanking kit (21323), which includes a 7.5kg tub of Mapelastic AquaDefense, a 5m roll of Mapeband PE120 tape and Mapei primer, or buy the 7.5kg tub (21321) on its own to top up a kit or tank a bigger room.

AquaDefense is designed to work with AKW wet floor formers and wastes, sealing the floor and walls before tiling.
