Kartell quote the output at Δt60, a standard test temperature. Many modern boilers, and especially heat pumps, run cooler than that, so the heat you actually get may be lower than the figure shown.

Fitting

Memphis is supplied with everything needed to fix it to the wall, and is pressure tested to 10 bar. Valves are sold separately – chrome valves will match; see our towel radiator valves.

The pipe connections are at the bottom of each upright: 450mm apart on the 500mm-wide size and 550mm apart on the 600mm-wide size (the “tapping centres”). If you are replacing an existing towel rail, measure between your pipes first – if the spacing does not match, the pipework will need adjusting.

On the 500mm-wide size the rail stands 96–106mm out from the wall, with the pipe connections about 62mm out from the wall. Make sure the wall can take the weight once the rail is full of water and towels: solid walls are straightforward, but stud and plasterboard walls need suitable heavy-duty fixings or a timber support behind the board.

Looking after the finish

Wipe over with a soft, damp cloth and dry to avoid water marks.
