The AKW Option BW Shower Screen 1500 x 820mm Right Hand – 750mm High (91018R) is a high-quality, half-height showering solution designed specifically for accessible and assisted bathing environments. Combining practical functionality with a clean, modern aesthetic, it delivers reliable splash protection while maintaining easy, unhindered access for users and carers.

This Option BW series variant is purpose-designed for wet floor and level-access installations, commonly used with wetroom formers. It features a fixed side panel with a single door that opens both inwards and outwards, along with bi-fold doors on the return side, allowing flexible access even in compact or shared bathrooms. The 1500 x 820mm footprint provides a spacious showering area, while the 750mm half-height design enhances visibility and access for carers without compromising water control.

Operation is smooth and intuitive thanks to unique rising butt two-way hinges, eliminating the need for awkward levers. 180° hinges on the single door and 360° hinges on the bi-fold doors allow the screen to open fully in either direction, making it ideal for restricted spaces. 14.5mm adjustment on each side via integrated compensators ensures a precise and secure fit, even on uneven walls.

Built for durability, the screen features robust high-grade aluminium frames and hardwearing nylon 6 hinges and caps for long service life. Lightweight frosted shatterproof PET glazed panels provide enhanced safety while maintaining light and privacy. Excellent water retention is achieved through a strong magnetic strip, profiled floor seals, and high-quality elastomeric gaskets, creating a dependable watertight seal.

Supplied as standard with an easy-glide L-shaped curtain rail and white permeable weighted curtains, the screen offers additional privacy and splash protection during showering. Smooth modern latches and ergonomic D-handles improve usability and hold the bi-fold doors securely in place. Special corner blocks allow on-site trimming to accommodate coved slip-resistant flooring in wet floor installations.
