The AKW Option BW Shower Screen 1500 x 820mm Right Hand – 900mm High (91020R) is a robust, half-height shower enclosure designed to deliver excellent accessibility, durability, and water control in modern wet room and level-access shower installations. Ideal for both assisted and independent bathing environments, it combines practical design with a clean, contemporary appearance.

This Option BW series variant is specifically engineered for wet floor and level-access installations, often paired with wetroom formers. It incorporates a fixed side panel with a single door that opens both inwards and outwards, alongside bi-fold doors on the return side, providing flexible access even in smaller or shared bathrooms. The 1500 x 820mm footprint offers generous internal space for comfortable showering, while the 900mm half-height design improves splash protection while still allowing easy carer access.

Smooth and effortless operation is achieved through unique rising butt two-way hinges, removing the need for awkward levers. 180° hinges on the single door and 360° hinges on the bi-fold doors enable opening in either direction, enhancing manoeuvrability and ease of use. 14.5mm adjustment on each side via integrated compensators allows accurate installation, even on uneven walls.

Constructed for long-term performance, the screen features high-grade aluminium frames and hardwearing nylon 6 hinges and caps for superior strength and corrosion resistance. Lightweight frosted shatterproof PET glazed panels provide enhanced safety while allowing natural light and privacy. A strong magnetic strip, profiled floor seals, and high-quality elastomeric gaskets work together to ensure excellent water retention and a reliable watertight seal.

Supplied as standard with an easy-glide L-shaped curtain rail and white permeable weighted curtains, the screen offers added privacy and flexibility during showering. Smooth modern latches and ergonomic D-handles improve user comfort and securely hold the bi-fold doors in position. Special corner blocks allow on-site trimming to accommodate coved slip-resistant flooring in wet floor installations.
