Two Tap Hole Wash Basin

Two Tap Hole Wash Basin

(12 products)
View as

A two tap hole basin is drilled at both ends for a separate hot and cold pillar tap pair, rather than a single central mixer. It is the traditional arrangement and still the right look for period and classic bathrooms.

Why two holes?

Aesthetics mostly — a pair of pillar taps suits a traditional or Victorian-style bathroom in a way a mono mixer does not. There is also a practical case in older properties where hot and cold arrive at very different pressures, since separate taps sidestep the mixing problem entirely.

The trade-off

Worth knowing before you commit: with separate taps you cannot easily get warm water. You get hot from one and cold from the other, which means filling the bowl to wash rather than running the tap. Some people much prefer it; others find it a daily irritation.

Check the drilling

Tap holes are moulded in and cannot be added or filled. If you want a single mixer, you need a one tap hole basin instead.

Styles

Available as full pedestal, semi pedestal, wall hung and countertop. Most are supplied without taps or waste, so add a basin waste.
