Bathroom storage is almost always underestimated at the planning stage, and almost always regretted later. Cabinets keep the everyday clutter out of sight and off the basin.
Where the space actually is
In most bathrooms the floor is already spoken for, so look upward and into corners. Tall wall mounted units use vertical space efficiently, while slimline cabinets fit gaps too narrow for anything else. A mirror cabinet does double duty above the basin.
Open or closed?
Closed cupboards hide clutter and keep dust off. Open shelving is cheaper and makes things easy to reach, but everything on it is on display and will need dusting.
Wall mounted or floor standing
Wall mounted units leave clear floor, look lighter and are easier to clean around — but need a fixing the wall can take. Floor standing units avoid that question and suit heavier contents.
Matching
Most furniture ranges share finishes across cabinets, vanity units and WC units, so a bathroom can be fitted out as one coordinated set rather than assembled piecemeal.
