Tall storage is the most efficient way to add bathroom cupboard space, because it uses vertical wall rather than floor area. In a small bathroom that is often the only space genuinely available.
Wall mounted or floor standing?
Wall mounted units leave clear floor beneath — easier to clean around, and they make the room feel less crowded. They do need a wall that can carry the load, so a stud wall will want noggins or a backing board. Floor standing units avoid that question entirely.
What fits inside
Most tall units are around 300-400mm wide and 1200-1600mm high, with adjustable shelves. That suits towels, cleaning products and the bulk items that clutter a bathroom. Check internal shelf spacing if you plan to store anything tall.
Positioning
Tall units work best in a corner or beside a vanity, where they square off the run rather than interrupting it. Avoid placing one where it blocks natural light from a window — it will make the room feel considerably smaller.
Finishes match across most furniture ranges, so you can coordinate with vanity units and mirror cabinets.
