Kartell K-VIT Wire Soap Basket with Hook – Chrome (ACC100)

Kartell K-VIT Wire Soap Basket with Hook – Chrome (ACC100)

Wire is Kartell's range of chrome wire baskets for keeping the shower and bath tidy. The open wire construction lets water drain away and air circulate, so bottles, soap and sponges are not left sitting in standing water.

A long chrome wire basket that fixes to the wall, with hooks on the underside – for bottles and soap above, and a flannel or sponge hanging below.

Choosing and using it

At 370 x 130mm and 70mm deep it is the larger of the two Wire soap baskets, enough for a family's shampoo and shower gel in one place. The open wire base lets water drain straight through.

Fitting

Fit it within easy reach but out of the direct spray of the shower – for most people around chest height. Kartell supply fixings with it. Before drilling, check they suit your wall: plasterboard and stud walls need cavity fixings rather than standard plugs, and tiles should be drilled with a tile bit on a slow speed to avoid cracking. In a shower, run a little silicone into each hole before inserting the plug so water cannot get behind the tiles.
