Sold by the box – 50 tiles per box, covering around 0.45m². Each 38x235mm tile is 0.009m², so a box works out at roughly £84.44 per m² (£0.76 a tile). We only supply full boxes.

A kitchen splashback is the obvious place for this mustard finger tile, though it works anywhere a wall needs a strong, warm colour. The 38x235mm ceramic stick is glazed in a rich mustard yellow with a crackle gloss finish, so the colour varies in depth across each piece and shines under light.

Stack the sticks vertically for the classic column look, run them horizontally for a longer line, or set them in a herringbone. The small format wraps around a niche or an upstand with few awkward cuts. It is for interior walls only.

The gloss ceramic surface wipes clean easily, which suits a cooking area. The crackle pattern forms in the kiln and differs from tile to tile. Each box holds 50 tiles and covers 0.45 square metres, so a splashback of two square metres needs five boxes.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 0.45 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Wall tile only. Use a flexible wall adhesive with a fine-notched trowel and a thin bed so adhesive does not fill the narrow 1-2mm joints. Mark vertical lines on the wall before you start and check them often. Test the grout on a spare tile, as crackle glazes can take up pigment, and seal if recommended.
