A bath filler does one job — fill the bath — and does it faster than a tap designed to also feed a shower. If you have a separate shower, this is the tap you want.
Mounting options
- Deck mounted — sits on the bath rim. The standard arrangement, needing one or two tap holes.
- Wall mounted — comes out of the wall above the bath. Clean-looking and easy to clean around, but the pipework must be planned before tiling.
- Freestanding — a floor-standing pillar for a freestanding bath, with pipework coming up through the floor.
Flow rate matters here
More than with any other tap. A slow filler on a large bath means a long wait and water going cold at the bottom before the top is full. Check the stated flow rate against your system pressure — a high-flow filler on a gravity system will not deliver its rated figure.
Tap holes
Check your bath's drilling first: one hole for a monobloc, two at 180mm centres for a twin lever pair. Neither can be changed after the fact.
Overflow filler
Some baths fill through the overflow, needing no tap holes at all — a neat solution on a freestanding bath.
