Kartell K-VIT Mouldwood Two Piece Bath Panel – White Gloss (Front & End)
The Mouldwood is the most substantial of Kartell's bath panels. Where the others are thin mouldings, this is a two piece panel and the 1700mm front weighs 15.45kg – close to three times a standard panel. It feels and sounds solid when you knock it, more like a piece of furniture than a bath panel.
It comes in one front length, 1700mm, with a matching 700mm end panel, both in white gloss.
What the weight buys you
Three things, and they all follow from the same thing.
- No flex at all. A solid panel does not give when leaned on, so the silicone seal along the top edge is not being worked loose year after year.
- It does not sound hollow. The drumming noise a thin panel makes when knocked is the main thing that makes a bath feel cheap.
- A flatter, truer face. Heavier board holds its shape across 1700mm rather than bowing gently between fixings.
The trade is handling. At 15.45kg it is a two-person lift into a bathroom, and cutting it is more work than trimming a moulded panel.
Choose your panel
| Panel | Code | Weight |

| 700mm end | FUR684IM | 7.01kg |
Which panel range?
| Mouldwood | Supastyle | Sonic | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Construction | Two piece, solid | Acrylic, plain moulded | Reinforced, ribbed back |
| Front panel weight | 15.45kg | 5–6kg | 6.5kg |
| Lengths | 1700 | 1500, 1600, 1700 | 1700, 1800 |
| Best for | A more solid, furniture-like finish | Budget, straightforward fitting | Where the panel takes knocks |
See the Supastyle panel for other lengths, or the Sonic reinforced panel for a lighter panel that still resists flexing.
Before you order
- Only 1700mm. If your bath is 1500, 1600 or 1800mm, this range will not cover it.
- Plan for the weight. A two-person lift, and heavier fixings than a moulded panel needs.
- Do you need an end panel? Only if one end of the bath is open. A bath in an alcove needs the front panel alone.
Fitting tips
Level the bath and set the rim height before cutting anything. Support the panel properly while cutting – a heavy board will chip its gloss face if it is allowed to flex or drop on the cut. Fix it so it can be removed again: it is the only way back to the waste and trap, and on a panel this heavy that means fixings you can actually undo rather than silicone alone.
