Kartell K-VIT Sonic Reinforced Bath Panel – White Gloss (All Sizes)
The Sonic is Kartell's reinforced bath panel – the same plain white gloss face as a standard panel, but with a ribbed structure moulded into the back to stop it flexing. It stands 520mm high, comes in two front lengths and two end widths, and carries a 5-year manufacturer's guarantee.
Why pay more for a reinforced panel?
A plain bath panel is a thin moulding. It does its job, but it gives when it is leaned on, knocked by a vacuum cleaner or pushed by a child climbing into the bath, and over years that flexing works the seal loose along the top edge.
The ribs on the back of the Sonic take that flex out. It is worth the difference in a family bathroom, in a rental or anywhere the panel takes daily knocks. In a quiet en-suite, a standard panel is usually enough.
It is also the only one of Kartell's panel ranges made in 1800mm, so if you have an 1800mm bath this is the panel for it.
Choose your panel
| Panel | Code | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| 1700mm front | BAT244SO | 6.5kg |
| 1800mm front | BAT245SO | 6.5kg |
| 700mm end | BAT246SO | 6.5kg |
| 800mm end | BAT247SO | 6.5kg |
Do you need an end panel?
Only if one end of the bath is open, as in a corner layout. A bath in an alcove between two walls needs a front panel alone.
Which panel range?
| Sonic | Supastyle | Mouldwood | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Construction | Reinforced, ribbed back | Acrylic, plain moulded | Two piece, solid |
| Front panel weight | 6.5kg | 5–6kg | 15.45kg |
| Lengths | 1700, 1800 | 1500, 1600, 1700 | 1700 |
| Guarantee | 5 years | 5 years | – |
| Best for | Where the panel takes knocks | Budget, straightforward fitting | A more solid, furniture-like finish |
See the Supastyle panel if you need 1500 or 1600mm, or the Mouldwood two piece panel for a heavier, more solid finish.
Before you order
- Measure your bath, not the box it came in. Panel lengths are nominal and the panel is trimmed on site.
- Check the rim height. The panel suits a bath set at around 520mm.
- The ribs are on the back. The face is the same plain white gloss as a standard panel – you are paying for rigidity, not a different look.
Fitting tips
Level the bath and set the rim height before cutting anything. Offer the panel up dry and mark it in place rather than measuring and cutting off the bath. Take care when trimming a reinforced panel – cut through the ribs rather than across the face, and support it well so the moulding does not crack. Fix it so it can be removed again: it is the only way back to the waste and trap.
