Kartell K-VIT Logik Mono Basin Mixer with Click Waste – Chrome (TAP040LOJ)

Kartell K-VIT Logik Mono Basin Mixer with Click Waste – Chrome (TAP040LOJ)

The Kartell K-VIT Logik range is soft-edged and low-slung — an oval body with a wide flat lever laid along the top, so there is very little of it standing proud of the basin. Kartell describe it as "a delicate and understated look, to create a smooth appearance in a tranquil bathroom space", and understated is the word: this is the quietest shape in the brassware catalogue.

This is the mono basin mixer, supplied complete with a matching chrome click waste — worth noting, because most basin mixers do not include one and it is an easy extra to forget when you are pricing up a basin.

Before you order

This is a single lever mono, so your basin needs one tap hole. It will not fit a basin drilled for separate hot and cold taps.

The tap measures 141mm front to back. Check that against the distance from your tap hole to the middle of the bowl — Logik sits lower than most basin mixers, which suits a shallow basin, but it also means less clearance underneath for filling a tall glass or a bottle.

Water pressure

Kartell rate this tap suitable for low water pressure systems — it will run from as little as 0.2 bar. That means it works on a gravity-fed tank and cylinder as well as on mains, combi or unvented pressure.

Living with it

The ceramic disc cartridge with quarter-turn operation gives full flow from a small movement of the lever, and is far less prone to dripping than a washer tap.

Polished chrome on a smooth rounded body is about the easiest thing in a bathroom to keep clean — there are no corners for limescale to lodge in, and a wipe with a soft damp cloth is all it needs. What it will not take is abrasives: cream cleaners, scouring pads and strong limescale removers cut through the plating, and dull chrome cannot be brought back.

The rest of the Logik range

The range also includes a bath filler and a bath shower mixer.
