Kartell K-VIT Visage Mono Basin Mixer with Click Waste – Chrome (TAP270VIJ)

Kartell K-VIT Visage Mono Basin Mixer with Click Waste – Chrome (TAP270VIJ)

The Kartell K-VIT Visage range is all soft curves and rounded edges — no hard corners anywhere on it. Kartell describe it as "effortlessly elegant with an air of serenity", and it is the least assertive shape in the brassware catalogue: a classic finishing touch rather than a statement piece. If the rest of the room is doing the talking, these are the taps that will not argue with it.

This is the mono basin mixer, supplied complete with a matching chrome click waste — worth noting, because most basin mixers do not include one and it is an easy extra to forget when you are pricing up a basin.

Before you order

This is a single lever mono, so your basin needs one tap hole. It will not fit a basin drilled for separate hot and cold taps.

If the basin is a small cloakroom one, look at the Visage mini instead — same tap, shorter body, and it also comes with a click waste.

Water pressure

Kartell rate this tap suitable for low water pressure systems — it will run from as little as 0.2 bar. That means it works on a gravity-fed tank and cylinder as well as on mains, combi or unvented pressure.

Living with it

The ceramic disc cartridge with quarter-turn operation gives full flow from a small movement of the lever, and is far less prone to dripping than a washer tap.

Polished chrome on a rounded body is about the easiest thing in a bathroom to keep clean — there are no corners for limescale to lodge in, and a wipe with a soft damp cloth is all it needs. What it will not take is abrasives: cream cleaners, scouring pads and strong limescale removers cut through the plating, and dull chrome cannot be brought back.

The rest of the Visage range

The range also includes a mini mono basin mixer with click waste, a bath filler and a bath shower mixer.
