Sold by the box – 2 tiles per box, covering around 1.44m². Each 600x1200mm tile is 0.72m², so a box works out at roughly £61.60 per m² (£44.35 a tile). We only supply full boxes.

Charleston Beige brings the warmer side of travertine to a large tile. The base is a soft, sandy beige with delicate markings and faint banding, closer to honed stone than to a printed pattern. The matt glaze keeps it mellow, and it works with timber, brass and off-white paintwork.

A 600x1200mm tile is well suited to open-plan floors and big bathroom walls, where small tiles would look busy. Lay it brick-bond on a floor for a flagged look, or run full-height panels behind a bath. Each box of two tiles covers 1.44m².

The body is porcelain, so it takes foot traffic in hallways and kitchens as happily as it takes steam in a bathroom. It cleans with a damp mop and a neutral detergent. The same beige is made in smaller formats and as mosaic sheets, so one colour can run through a whole house.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 1.44 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Large porcelain slabs want a rigid, flat base and a full bed of flexible adhesive; comb the substrate and back-butter the tile. Allow a 2-3mm joint and use a levelling system across the long edges. Mix tiles from several boxes as you go so the beige tones blend naturally.
