For a shower floor or splashback that matches the Charleston White tiles, this brick mosaic puts the same off-white travertine effect onto a 300x300mm mesh sheet. The small bricks sit in a staggered bond and the sheet is laid as a single piece.

Off-white with soft pale veining, each brick carries a slightly different tone, and together they give a quiet, textured surface. The matt glaze keeps it understated. It works as a full shower floor, a niche lining, a splashback or a border set into plain white tiles.

The mosaic is porcelain, so it is suitable for indoor walls and floors and copes with wet areas. A box of six sheets covers 0.54m². It can be trimmed along the mesh to suit awkward widths, which makes borders and steps simple to finish.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 0.54 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Comb a flexible porcelain adhesive on with a 3-4mm notch, press each sheet in with a float and check the spacing between sheets matches the brick joints. Use a flexible white or light grey grout. In showers, tank the floor and walls first and use a waterproof grout.
