Emerald green gives the classic Victorian floor pattern a richer, more modern colour than the usual black and terracotta. The green is deep and clear, set against lighter tones within the geometric design, and the matt porcelain surface keeps it looking like a traditional encaustic floor.

The pattern comes on 338x338mm sheets with the small porcelain pieces already arranged on a mesh backing, so each sheet is laid as one unit and the design lines up automatically with the next. A box of five sheets covers 0.57m².

It is a floor tile for indoor use in hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, conservatories and living rooms. The emerald green border and 93x93mm corner sheets in the Edisto range finish the edges of the floor in the traditional way.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 0.57 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Set the sheets out dry from the centre line of the hall or room so the pattern is centred and the cuts at each side match. Fix with a flexible cementitious adhesive using a fine-notched trowel, tap each sheet flat and keep the joint between sheets equal to the joints inside the sheet. Use a flexible grout.
