Outdoor porcelain paving in the same warm sand cement look as the Galveston indoor floor tile, but 20mm thick for use outside. Each slab is 600x900mm and covers 0.54m², with a matt surface and the soft tonal movement of a cement floor across the face.

It is priced and supplied per slab, so you order the exact number for a patio, terrace, path or balcony, allowing a few extra for cuts. The large rectangle lays in straight rows or a third-offset bond and gives a garden the same clean lines as a modern interior floor.

Porcelain paving is dense and does not absorb water the way natural stone or concrete slabs do, so it stays the same colour when wet and is easy to keep clean. Used with the sand 600x900mm indoor tile, the floor can run from the kitchen through the doors to the garden in one colour.

Working out how many you need

Measure the area or run you are covering, allow 10% extra for cuts and breakages, and order the full quantity together so everything comes from the same batch.

Fitting notes

20mm porcelain paving can be laid on adjustable pedestals over a firm base, on a bed of grit over compacted hardcore or on a full mortar bed with a slurry primer on the back of each slab. Leave a 3 to 5mm joint, keep a fall for drainage and use a frost-resistant exterior jointing compound. Never lay straight onto soil.
