Sold by the box – 2 tiles per box, covering around 0.74m². Each 610x610mm tile is 0.372m², so a box works out at roughly £71.08 per m² (£26.30 a tile). We only supply full boxes.

A 20mm-thick porcelain paving slab in a white marble effect with soft grey veining, made to carry the Hatteras look out of the house and onto a patio or terrace. The surface is textured rather than polished, and the 610x610mm square format lays in a simple grid.

Two slabs per box cover 0.74m². At 20mm thick each piece is solid enough for outdoor paving, laid on a mortar bed, on a compacted grit base or on pedestals over a flat deck or roof terrace. The white tone keeps a garden bright and matches the indoor white Hatteras tiles.

Porcelain does not absorb water the way natural stone does, so moss and staining are easier to keep off, and the colour is fired in rather than applied. The textured face gives a more matt, stone-like look than the indoor tiles. It is sold for floor use only.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 0.74 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Lay on a full mortar bed with a slurry primer on the back of each slab, or use pedestals or a compacted grit base for a dry lay. Set out with 4 to 5mm joints and a suitable exterior grout or brush-in jointing compound. Cut with a diamond blade and wet saw.
