A bath screen keeps the water in when you shower over the bath. This is the Kartell K-VIT Koncept straight screen with a radius (curved) top edge and an integrated 220mm extension panel — 1000mm of coverage rather than the usual 780mm.

Why the extension panel matters

A standard bath screen is 780mm wide, which covers the shower end of the bath but leaves a gap where water can still escape past your shoulder. The extension panel adds a fixed 220mm section, taking total coverage to 1000mm.

It's worth having if you have a powerful shower, if the bath sits against a wall you'd rather keep dry, or if whoever uses it tends to move about. The trade-off is that the fixed section can't be swung out of the way, so getting in and out of the bath is slightly more restricted than with a plain 780mm screen.

Radius edge or square edge?

Purely aesthetic — they're the same screen otherwise, same price, same fittings.

• Radius edge (this one) has a gently curved top corner, which sits comfortably with a rounded or P-shaped bath.
• Square edge has a straight, sharp corner — better with a squared-off bath and a contemporary scheme.

Fitting and use

The hinged main panel rotates through 90° in both directions, so it folds flat against the wall or swings out over the bath — useful for cleaning and for getting in and out. The wall profile gives 20mm of adjustment, enough for walls that aren't quite plumb but far less than a shower door, so measure at the top and bottom of where the profile will sit.

It fits any flat-topped bath and can be fitted at either end. Fixings are supplied.
