A Victorian geometric floor reworked in a soft mint green, a pastel take on a pattern more often seen in black, white and red. The small pieces are matt porcelain and come fixed to a mesh backing in 385x385mm sheets, so the whole pattern is laid as one piece.

The colour makes it gentler than a traditional period floor and suits a bathroom or kitchen as readily as a hallway. The sheets form the main field; a matching border strip and corner piece frame it, which is how a Victorian hall floor would have been set out.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 1.04 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Each mesh-backed sheet is laid as one unit on a level floor. Use a flexible adhesive spread thinly with a fine-notched trowel so it does not rise between the pieces, bed with a flat float and keep the gap between sheets the same as the joints within them. Grout with a fine joint grout and clean off promptly.
