An ivory porcelain with a soft beige base and a fine speckled pattern, in the manner of a pale limestone. The matt surface gives it a natural, dry-stone look rather than a polished one. It is a gentle neutral that suits white sanitaryware and timber.

At 300x600mm the tile suits bathroom walls in a brick bond and floors in a straight or staggered lay. Seven tiles make a box, covering 1.26m². The manufacturer lists it for walls, floors and splashbacks, in bathrooms and kitchens.

Porcelain is dense and water-resistant, and the manufacturer describes this tile as durable, easy to clean and suited to high-traffic and wet areas. It does not need sealing. Use it on walls with the 100x600mm plank as a border, or on the floor with the anti-slip version in the shower.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 1.26 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

A flexible porcelain adhesive suits both walls and floors; bed floor tiles solidly. The speckled pattern varies from tile to tile, so take tiles from several boxes as you go. Joints of 2-3mm with an ivory or beige grout suit the stone look. Wipe grout off the matt surface before it dries.
