Kartell K-VIT Purity 430mm Round Sit-On Bowl (FUR435PU)

Kartell K-VIT Purity 430mm Round Sit-On Bowl (FUR435PU)

A round ceramic sit-on bowl that stands on a worktop rather than dropping into it — the basin used in the Purity worktop and bowl sets.

Sit-On or Inset?

An inset basin sits down into the unit, so the rim is roughly level with the worktop. A sit-on bowl stands on the surface, which changes the look completely: the bowl becomes the feature of the room rather than part of the cabinet.

It also frees up the surface either side. What it costs you is height — the bowl stands 175mm above the worktop, so the rim sits higher than a conventional basin.

Two Things to Get Right

• It only fits the Purity ceramic worktop (FUR433PU). Kartell are explicit about this — the bowl is not a general purpose countertop basin, and the worktop comes pre-cut for it.
• You need a hi-rise mono mixer. A standard basin tap will not clear a rim standing 175mm proud of the surface. Kartell's Flair, Plan, Kolt and Nero hi-rise mixers are all made for this.
