The AKW Braddan Level Access Shower Tray is one of the UK's most widely specified accessible shower trays. At just 40mm high with a slip-resistant textured finish, it lets you create a fully level-access, semi-recessed, surface-mounted or low step-in shower area — on timber, concrete or screeded floors.

Available in 24 sizes from 800 x 800mm up to 1800 x 900mm, with a choice of gravity or pumped waste. Backed by AKW's lifetime guarantee.

Choosing your waste

The Braddan takes a 50mm threaded waste in its central outlet. Which one you need depends on the depth available below the tray and whether you can run a gravity fall to the soil stack.

• GW19 Gravity Waste (25125) — 19mm water seal, 93mm deep below the tray. The shallow option, and usually the right call on a timber floor where joist depth is tight.
• GW50 Gravity Waste (25126) — 50mm water seal, 124mm deep below the tray. The standard choice where you have the depth; a deeper seal is more resistant to odour backflow.
• PW50 15mm Pumped Waste (25122) — for installations with no gravity fall, discharging through 15mm pipework.
• PW50 22mm Pumped Waste (25405) — the same pumped waste with a 22mm JG Speedfit outlet.
• Upward pumped (factory-fitted) — for unbreachable floors where nothing at all can sit below tray level. This is a different tray, ordered as a complete unit rather than a waste you add.

Both gravity wastes have a built-in strainer that lifts out for cleaning.

Available sizes & product codes

Most sizes are moulded in GRP (glass reinforced plastic). AKW produce the 1200 x 700mm, 1200 x 820mm, 1300 x 700mm, 1420 x 700mm and 1700 x 700mm in SMC (sheet moulding compound).

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a completely level floor with this tray? Yes, on a timber or screeded floor the tray can be recessed so the top surface sits flush with the surrounding floor. On a solid concrete floor without a recess it installs as a low step-in tray instead.

Is the tray handed? No. The waste sits centrally, so one tray covers both left- and right-hand layouts.

Do I need to foam underneath it? No. The Braddan is designed with integral strength and does not need under-tray foaming.

Can it be cut down? Only the 1800mm lengths, which are supplied with a trim-to-length kit and can be reduced to 1500mm. A trimmed tray must go in an alcove, not a corner. Other sizes should not be cut.
