Description
Kartell K-VIT Newark Towel Rail – Chrome (All Sizes)
Newark is a chrome plated designer towel rail from Kartell with wide, flat bars between two round uprights, giving a clean, modern ladder look. The bars are set in groups with open gaps between them where folded towels can hang – 9 bars on the 950mm size and 13 on the 1300mm.
A bright chrome finish suits almost any bathroom and matches chrome taps, showers and accessories.
Both sizes are 500mm wide – choose the height from the dropdown.
Sizes and heat output
| Size (H x W) | Code | Width | Height | Output (Δt60) | Approx. watts | Tapping centres | Weight | Barcode (EAN) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 950 x 500mm | EWR | 500mm | 950mm | 1451 BTU | 425W | 462mm | 7.73kg | 5060168220608 |
| 1300 x 500mm | EWR-1 | 500mm | 1300mm | 2065 BTU | 605W | 462mm | 9.22kg | 5060168220615 |
Choosing a size
The 950mm suits a cloakroom, en-suite or a shorter wall; the taller 1300mm gives more hanging space and around 40% more heat.
If the towel rail will be the only heat in the room, check its output against what the room needs – a BTU calculator will give you a figure from the room's size, windows and outside walls. Kartell quote the output at Δt60, a standard test temperature. Many modern boilers, and especially heat pumps, run cooler than that, so the heat you actually get may be lower than the figure shown.
Fitting
Newark is supplied with everything needed to fix it to the wall, and is pressure tested up to 13 bar. Valves are sold separately – chrome valves will match; see our towel radiator valves.
The pipe connections are at the bottom of each upright, 462mm apart on both sizes (the “tapping centres”). If you are replacing an existing towel rail, measure between your pipes first – if the spacing does not match, the pipework will need adjusting. Make sure the wall can take the weight once the rail is full of water and towels: solid walls are straightforward, but stud and plasterboard walls need suitable heavy-duty fixings or a timber support behind the board.
Looking after the finish
Wipe over with a soft, damp cloth and dry to avoid water marks. Avoid abrasive pads, bleach and limescale removers, which can damage chrome plating.
