For a shower floor that needs colour, this emerald green 147x147mm square has a matt anti-slip surface. The green is the same deep tone as the gloss version but without the shine, so it reads as softer and flatter underfoot.

A box holds forty-four tiles and covers 0.97m². The small format suits a shower tray area or a wet room floor, because the many joints add grip and the tiles can follow a fall to the drain. Walls and floors are both listed by the manufacturer.

Porcelain with an anti-slip finish, so it stands up to water and foot traffic. Pair it with the gloss emerald tile on the walls for a matched scheme in the same green. The matt face shows soap marks less than the gloss, which helps on a shower floor.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 0.97 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

On a shower floor, bed the tiles fully on a flexible porcelain adhesive and cut them to follow the falls. Use a 2-3mm joint; a dark green or grey grout hides water marks better than white on a floor. Grout in small sections and sponge the matt face clean before it dries. Keep the joint lines straight.
