Sold by the box – 5 tiles per box, covering around 0.90m². Each 300x600mm tile is 0.18m², so a box works out at roughly £52.33 per m² (£9.42 a tile). We only supply full boxes.

A black porcelain with a polished face. The gloss gives the black depth and reflection, so a feature wall or splashback reads as a dark mirror rather than a flat panel. It contrasts cleanly with white or pale tiles elsewhere in the room.

The 300x600mm format suits walls in a brick bond and small floors in a straight stack. Each box holds five tiles for 0.9m² of coverage. Keep the joints to 2-3mm and use a black grout so the surface stays unbroken.

Made from full-bodied porcelain with rectified edges, so the black runs through the tile. The manufacturer lists it for walls and floors in bathrooms, kitchens, conservatories, hallways and living areas, in homes and commercial settings.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 0.90 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Black polished tiles show scratches, smears and adhesive residue more than any other colour, so handle them with care and keep the face clean throughout. Fit with a flexible porcelain adhesive and a solid bed on floors. Use a dark grout at 2-3mm and wash it off before it dries on the surface.
