Sold by the box – 5 tiles per box, covering around 0.90m². Each 300x600mm tile is 0.18m², so a box works out at roughly £46.00 per m² (£8.28 a tile). We only supply full boxes.

Carbon in a natural matt finish is a deep charcoal grey without any sheen. It reads as softer than black and hides marks well, which makes it a practical choice for a kitchen or hallway floor as much as a bathroom wall.

The 300x600mm format gives a brick-bond floor or wall a sense of rhythm without the busy look of a small tile. Five tiles fill a box and cover 0.9m². Rectified edges allow joints of 2-3mm.

Full-bodied porcelain stoneware, so the carbon colour runs through the tile. The manufacturer rates it for walls and floors in bathrooms, kitchens, conservatories, hallways and living areas, and for commercial spaces as well as homes.

Working out how many boxes

Measure the wall or floor in square metres, add 10% for cuts and breakages, divide by 0.90 and round up to the next whole box. Order everything you need in one go – shade can vary a little between production batches, and buying all your boxes together keeps the whole area from the same run.

Fitting notes

Use a flexible cementitious adhesive for porcelain, fully bedded on floors. A dark grey or charcoal grout at 2-3mm keeps the joints quiet. Matt porcelain is forgiving during fitting but still wipe adhesive off before it cures. Mix tiles from several boxes across the area.
