Kartell K-VIT Luxe Single Ended Bath with Hand Grips – White Gloss (All Sizes)
The Luxe takes the shape of Kartell's Spirit bath – upright tap end, raked backrest, 410mm depth – and adds a pair of integrated hand grips set into the sides. Grips make getting in and out steadier, which is worth having for older bathers, anyone less sure on their feet, and anyone bathing small children. It comes in 1500, 1650 and 1700mm lengths, all 700mm wide – and the 1650 is the size to look at if your recess falls between the standard lengths. Part of the Unity by K-VIT range, it's made in Britain from sanitary-grade cast acrylic on an encapsulated baseboard, supplied with legs, and backed by Kartell's 25-year Unity guarantee.
Key features
- Integrated hand grips, one on each side
- Three lengths – 1500, 1650 and 1700mm, all 700mm wide
- 198 to 228 litres, 410mm deep
- Raked backrest for a reclined bathing position
- Sanitary-grade cast acrylic with an encapsulated baseboard – the reinforcing board is sealed in, so splashes and leaks can't soak into it and swell it over the years
- Supplied with legs
- No pre-drilled tap holes – fit deck-mounted taps exactly where you want them, or use wall-mounted taps
- Made in Britain, 25-year guarantee

| Size | Code | EAN | Actual size | Flat base | Capacity | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1500 x 700mm | LUX1570SE | 5055681448035 | 1492 x 692mm | 1332mm | 198 litres | 15.81kg |
| 1650 x 700mm | LUX1657SE | 5055681448059 | 1650 x 692mm | 1482mm | 216 litres | 17.31kg |
| 1700 x 700mm | LUX1770SE | 5055681448066 | 1692 x 692mm | 1542mm | 228 litres | 19.56kg |
The in-between size: if your recess measures between 1600 and 1700mm, a 1600 bath leaves a gap and a 1700 won't go in – the 1650 is made for that space. Note that the 1500 and 1700 are made 8mm under their nominal length, but the 1650 is a full 1650mm long, so measure carefully.
Matt black grips
For a bathroom with black brassware, Kartell offer matt black Luxe grips (LUXGRIPBK), sold as a pair.

Panels for the Luxe
Panels are sold separately. The 1650 is paired with Carron panels in Kartell's brochure:
| Bath size | Front panel | End panel |
|---|---|---|
| 1500 x 700mm | 1500 x 515mm (SFP1500515) | 700 x 515mm (SEP700515) |
| 1650 x 700mm | Carron 1650 x 515mm (02282) | Carron 700 x 515mm (02285) |
| 1700 x 700mm | 1700 x 515mm (SFP1700515) | 700 x 515mm (SEP700515) |
You only need the end panel if one end of the bath is open, as in a corner layout. A bath fitted into an alcove between two walls needs the front panel alone – ordering an end panel you can't use is an easy mistake to make.
Before you order
- Measure the recess at the back, the middle and the front. Walls are rarely square, and the bath has to fit the narrowest measurement.
- Check the route in. Up to 1692mm long, the bath has to pass through doorways, round landings and up the stairs – measure any tight turn before delivery day.
- Taps, waste and panels are sold separately. With no tap holes, decide your tap position before the bath goes in – it's much easier to drill before it's fitted.
- Think about the floor. Full to capacity, a Luxe holds between 198 and 228kg of water before anyone gets in, so the floor underneath needs to be sound.
Fitting tips
Set the legs so the bath is level with the rim at 515mm – the height the panels are made to. Fix it following the data sheet, then fill the bath with water before running the silicone seal along the walls. Sealing a full bath means the joint cures with the bath at its heaviest, so it won't pull away the first time someone gets in.
