Description
Description
The Oblique is Kartell's P-shaped shower bath. Its showering end sweeps out in a gentle curve to 850mm wide, giving you a generous place to stand under the shower, then narrows to 700mm along the bathing section so it doesn't take over the room. It's 1700mm long, comes in left or right hand, and you can add Kartell's matching curved Koncept screen as part of the same order. Part of the Unity by K-VIT range, it's made in Britain from acrylic on an encapsulated baseboard, supplied with legs, and backed by Kartell's 25-year Unity guarantee.
Key features
- Curved 850mm showering end – more standing room than a standard 700mm bath, with softer lines than a square shower bath
- 1700 x 850mm, in left or right hand
- 203 litres, 420mm deep
- Screen option – order the bath on its own, or with the curved Koncept screen made for P-shaped baths
- Acrylic with an encapsulated baseboard – the reinforcing board is sealed in, so splashes and leaks can't soak into it and swell it over the years
- Supplied with legs
- No pre-drilled tap holes – fit deck-mounted taps where you want them, or use wall-mounted taps and a shower valve
- Made in Britain, 25-year guarantee
Left hand or right hand?
Stand facing where the bath will go. On a left hand Oblique the curved showering end is on your left; on a right hand Oblique it's on your right. The showering end is also the tap and waste end, so choose the hand that puts it where your shower valve and plumbing will be. A shower bath in the wrong hand won't suit the room – check it against your layout before you order.

Add a screen
Use the Screen option to add the Koncept curved screen (KONCS), shaped to follow the Oblique's curved showering end. It's 6mm glass with an easy-clean coating, and fits both left and right hand baths. It's also sold on its own if you're replacing one.
Panels for the Oblique
Panels are sold separately and are 520mm high. Both fit left and right hand baths:
- Front panel: 1700mm curved front panel (BAT162OB)
- End panel: 700mm end panel (BAT170EO)
You only need the end panel if one end of the bath is open. A bath fitted into an alcove between two walls needs the front panel alone.
Before you order
- Check the hand. Decide which end the shower goes – see above.
- Measure the recess at the back, the middle and the front. Walls are rarely square, and the bath has to fit the narrowest measurement. The curved end projects 850mm from the wall, so check it clears doors, radiators and window sills.
- Check the route in. At 1700mm long and 850mm wide at one end, the bath has to pass through doorways, round landings and up the stairs – measure any tight turn before delivery day.
- Taps, waste, shower and panels are sold separately. With no tap holes, plan your tap and shower valve positions before the bath goes in.
- Think about the floor. Full to capacity, the Oblique holds 203kg of water before anyone gets in, so the floor underneath needs to be sound.
Fitting tips
Level the bath on its legs to suit the 520mm panels and fix it following the data sheet. Fill the bath with water before running the silicone seal along the walls, so the joint cures with the bath at its heaviest. Fit the screen once the seal has cured – it needs a solid wall to fix to, so plan for that behind the tiles.
