Kartell K-VIT Refine Single Ended Bath – White Gloss (All Sizes)

Kartell K-VIT Refine Single Ended Bath – White Gloss (All Sizes)

The Refine is the roomiest of Kartell's Unity by K-VIT single ended baths. Its ends curve gently rather than raking steeply, which gives it a longer flat floor than any other Unity bath of the same length – up to 1561mm to stretch out on. It comes in 1600 x 700mm, 1700 x 700mm and a wider, deeper 1700 x 750mm. Made in Britain from 5mm acrylic on an encapsulated baseboard, supplied with legs, and backed by Kartell's 25-year Unity guarantee.

Key features

• Three sizes – 1600 x 700, 1700 x 700 and 1700 x 750mm
• 204 to 257 litres, 400 to 430mm deep
• The longest flat bathing floor of any Unity bath its length
• 5mm acrylic with an encapsulated baseboard – the reinforcing board is sealed in, so splashes and leaks can't soak into it and swell it over the years
• Supplied with legs
• No pre-drilled tap holes – fit deck-mounted taps exactly where you want them, or use wall-mounted taps
• Made in Britain, 25-year guarantee

Choose your size

Each size is made 8mm under its nominal length and width, so it drops into a standard recess of that size with a little room to spare. The 1700 x 750mm is 50mm wider and 30mm deeper than the 1700 x 700mm, adding 39 litres – the one to choose if you have the width, but it sits taller and takes its own 540mm panels.

Specification (all sizes)

Panels for the Refine – check the 1700 x 750mm carefully

Panels are sold separately. The 1700 x 750mm sits at 540mm rather than 515mm, so it needs the taller 540mm panels – the standard 515mm panels will not fit it.

You only need the end panel if one end of the bath is open, as in a corner layout. A bath fitted into an alcove between two walls needs the front panel alone – ordering an end panel you can't use is an easy mistake to make.

Before you order

• Measure the recess at the back, the middle and the front. Walls are rarely square, and the bath has to fit the narrowest measurement. For the 1700 x 750mm, check the width too – at 742mm it's wider than a standard bath, so measure against any door, window sill or boxing on the open side.
• Check the route in. Up to 1692mm long, the bath has to pass through doorways, round landings and up the stairs – measure any tight turn before delivery day.
• Taps, waste and panels are sold separately. With no tap holes, decide your tap position before the bath goes in – it's much easier to drill before it's fitted.
• Think about the floor and your hot water. Full to capacity, a Refine holds between 204 and 257kg of water before anyone gets in, so the floor underneath needs to be sound – and the larger sizes take more hot water to fill.

Fitting tips

Set the legs so the bath is level with the rim at the height its panels are made to – 515mm, or 540mm for the 1700 x 750mm. Fix it following the data sheet, then fill the bath with water before running the silicone seal along the walls. Sealing a full bath means the joint cures with the bath at its heaviest, so it won't pull away the first time someone gets in.
