Kartell K-VIT Spirit Single Ended Bath – White Gloss (All Sizes)

Kartell K-VIT Spirit Single Ended Bath – White Gloss (All Sizes)

The Spirit is a crisp, square-lined single ended bath from Kartell's Unity by K-VIT range, with an upright tap end and a raked backrest at the other so you can lie back comfortably while the taps and waste stay at your feet. It comes in 1500, 1600 and 1700mm lengths, all 700mm wide and 410mm deep – deep enough to hold more water for its length than the Refine. Made in Britain from sanitary-grade cast acrylic on an encapsulated baseboard, supplied with legs, and backed by Kartell's 25-year Unity guarantee.

Key features

• Three lengths – 1500, 1600 and 1700mm, all 700mm wide
• 198 to 228 litres, 410mm deep
• Raked backrest for a reclined bathing position
• Sanitary-grade cast acrylic with an encapsulated baseboard – the reinforcing board is sealed in, so splashes and leaks can't soak into it and swell it over the years
• Supplied with legs
• No pre-drilled tap holes – fit deck-mounted taps exactly where you want them, or use wall-mounted taps
• Made in Britain, 25-year guarantee

Choose your size

Each size is made 8mm under its nominal length and width, so it drops into a standard recess of that size with a little room to spare. Measure your recess and choose the nominal size that matches it – not the next size up.

Specification (all sizes)

Want hand grips? The Luxe is the same shape and depth as the Spirit with a pair of integrated grips in the sides, in 1500, 1650 and 1700mm lengths.

Panels for the Spirit

All three sizes take Kartell's standard gloss white panels, sold separately:

You only need the end panel if one end of the bath is open, as in a corner layout. A bath fitted into an alcove between two walls needs the front panel alone – ordering an end panel you can't use is an easy mistake to make.

Before you order

• Measure the recess at the back, the middle and the front. Walls are rarely square, and the bath has to fit the narrowest measurement.
• Check the route in. Up to 1692mm long, the bath has to pass through doorways, round landings and up the stairs – measure any tight turn before delivery day.
• Taps, waste and panels are sold separately. With no tap holes, decide your tap position before the bath goes in – it's much easier to drill before it's fitted.
• Think about the floor. Full to capacity, a Spirit holds between 198 and 228kg of water before anyone gets in, so the floor underneath needs to be sound.

Fitting tips

Set the legs so the bath is level with the rim at 515mm – the height the panels are made to. Fix it following the data sheet, then fill the bath with water before running the silicone seal along the walls. Sealing a full bath means the joint cures with the bath at its heaviest, so it won't pull away the first time someone gets in.
