Carron Quantum L-Shaped Shower Bath – White Gloss (All Sizes)

The Carron Quantum L-shaped shower bath is a full-length bath with a wider, squared-off showering end – 850mm across where you stand, stepping down to 700mm along the bathing section. It gives you a proper shower space without losing a comfortable bath, and the square Quantum styling keeps the lines clean.

It comes in three lengths, each in left or right hand, and in Carron's standard 5mm acrylic with a 30-year warranty or Carronite with a 40-year warranty. You can add the matching QSS-2 screen as part of the same order. Made in Britain by Carron, whose manufacturing history goes back to 1759.

Left hand or right hand?

Stand facing where the bath will go. On a left hand Quantum the wide showering end is on your left; on a right hand it is on your right. The showering end is also the tap and waste end, so choose the hand that puts it where your shower valve and plumbing will be. A shower bath in the wrong hand will not suit the room – check it against your layout before ordering.

5mm acrylic or Carronite?

Worth thinking about on a shower bath. A bath you stand in flexes more than one you only sit in, so the extra rigidity of Carronite earns its keep here more than on a standard bath.

Choose your size

Weights are shown as 5mm acrylic / Carronite. All three sizes are 850mm wide at the showering end, 700mm along the bathing section, and sit at 540mm to the rim.

The screen

Use the Screen option to add Carron's QSS-2 Quantum shower bath screen (02347), a chrome-framed screen made for this bath. It is also sold on its own if you are replacing one.

Panels for the Quantum shower bath

Panels are sold separately, in standard and Carronite finishes. The front panel is shaped to follow the step in the bath, so it is specific to this model – a straight bath panel will not fit.

Codes are shown as standard / Carronite. You only need the end panel if the narrow end of the bath is open, as in a corner layout.

Before you order

• Check the hand. Decide which end the shower goes – see above.
• Measure the recess at the back, the middle and the front. Remember the showering end projects 850mm from the wall, so check it clears doors, radiators and window sills.
• Order the shower bath panels, not standard ones. The front panel is shaped to the step, and the end panel is a shower bath panel – a standard Carron panel of the same stated size will not fit.
• Check the route in. Up to 1690mm long and 850mm wide at one end, the bath has to pass through doorways, round landings and up the stairs – measure any tight turn before delivery day.
• Taps, waste, shower and panels are sold separately.
• Think about the floor. Full to capacity these hold between 229 and 265kg of water before anyone gets in, and a shower bath also takes someone's weight standing up.

Fitting tips

Install the bath with Carron's installation kit, levelled so the rim sits at 540mm – the height its panels are made to. Fill the bath with water before running the silicone seal along the walls, so the joint cures with the bath at its heaviest. Fit the screen once the seal has cured – it needs a solid wall to fix to, so plan for that behind the tiles.
