Kartell K-VIT Mode Bath Shower Mixer – Chrome (TAP122MOJ)
The Kartell K-VIT Mode range is a modern squared-off shape with the corners taken off — a flat-fronted body and a squared spout, softened just enough that it doesn’t look severe. Kartell describe it as “understated with a modern edge”, which is fair: it reads as contemporary without shouting, and sits comfortably in a bathroom that isn’t trying to be a showroom.
This is the bath shower mixer: a deck-mounted bath tap with a diverter and a slim squared shower handset on a flexible hose.
What it does
It fills the bath like a normal bath filler, and the diverter sends the water to the handset instead — so you can shower over the bath, rinse hair, or clean the bath down without a separate shower installation.
If you already have a shower elsewhere and only need to fill the bath, the Mode bath filler costs less and looks tidier without the hose.
What’s in the box
The tap, the shower hose and handset, and — easy to miss, because Kartell don’t list it on their website — a wall bracket for the handset. That matters: on plenty of bath shower mixers the bracket is an extra, and without one the handset has nowhere to live but the bottom of the bath.
Fixings are supplied. The waste is sold separately.
How fast it fills
Kartell’s flow figures, and roughly what they mean for a standard 180 litre bath:
- 0.2 bar (gravity-fed, tank in the loft) — 10.3 l/min, about 17 minutes
- 0.5 bar — 16.5 l/min, about 11 minutes
- 1 bar — 23.5 l/min, about 8 minutes
- 2 bar — 34.5 l/min, about 5 minutes
- 3 bar — 41.7 l/min, about 4 minutes
Those are fill rates through the spout. Being straight about the shower side: on gravity-fed plumbing at 0.2 bar the handset will be a gentle spray rather than a powerful shower. That is your water pressure, not the tap — for a proper shower over the bath you need a pump.
How it works
Ceramic disc cartridges with quarter-turn operation — a quarter turn from off to full, and far less likely to drip than washer taps.
Before you order
This is a two tap hole deck-mounted tap, with the holes at 180mm centres — the standard spacing on most baths, but worth measuring if yours is unusual.
Inlet connections are 3/4" BSP, the normal size for bath taps and larger than the 1/2" used on basin taps. If your existing tails are 1/2" you will need adaptors.
Suitable for low pressure systems.
The rest of the Mode range
Match it with the mono basin mixer, which includes a click waste, or the mini mono for a smaller basin. There is also a bath filler if you don’t need the handset.
