Kartell K-VIT Mode Bath Filler – Chrome (TAP124MOJ)
The Kartell K-VIT Mode range is a modern squared-off shape with the corners taken off — a flat-fronted body and a squared spout, softened just enough that it doesn’t look severe. Kartell describe it as “understated with a modern edge”, which is fair: it reads as contemporary without shouting, and sits comfortably in a bathroom that isn’t trying to be a showroom.
This is the bath filler: a deck-mounted tap that sits on the rim of the bath and fills it, with no shower function.
Bath filler or bath shower mixer?
A bath filler (this one) just fills the bath. Choose it where you already have a separate shower, or where nothing showers over the bath. It is the tidier of the two to look at — no hose over the rim — and it costs less.
A bath shower mixer adds a diverter and a handset on a hose. If you need to shower or rinse over the bath, that is the one.
How fast it fills
This is a properly quick filler. Kartell’s flow figures, and roughly what they mean for a standard 180 litre bath:
- 0.2 bar (gravity-fed, tank in the loft) — 11.3 l/min, about 16 minutes
- 0.5 bar — 17.7 l/min, about 10 minutes
- 1 bar — 25.1 l/min, about 7 minutes
- 2 bar — 38.1 l/min, under 5 minutes
- 3 bar — 43.8 l/min, about 4 minutes
The useful takeaway is the first line: even on a low-pressure gravity system it still gives 11.3 litres a minute, which is a reasonable fill rather than a trickle. Many bath taps do considerably worse down there.
How it works
Ceramic disc cartridges with quarter-turn operation — a quarter turn from off to full, and far less likely to drip than washer taps.
Before you order
This is a two tap hole deck-mounted tap. The holes need to be at 180mm centres, which is the standard spacing on most baths — worth measuring if your bath is an unusual one.
Connections are 3/4" BSP, the normal size for bath taps and larger than the 1/2" used on basin taps. If your existing tails are 1/2" you will need adaptors.
The waste is sold separately. A bath needs a waste and overflow set, which isn’t included here.
Suitable for low pressure systems — see the fill times above.
The rest of the Mode range
Match it with the mono basin mixer, which includes a click waste, or the mini mono for a smaller basin. There is also a bath shower mixer.
