The Kartell K-VIT Phase range is built on a square base with a flat, blade-like spout — a crisp modern shape that suits square sanitaryware and a contemporary room. This is the bath filler: a deck-mounted tap that sits on the rim of the bath and fills it, with no shower function.

How long will it take to fill a bath?

Kartell publish flow figures for Phase, and on a bath tap they translate directly into waiting time:

This is a slow filler. The Plan bath shower mixer manages 20.8 l/min at 1 bar — nearly three times this. Kartell list Phase as suitable for low pressure systems, and it will work, but at 0.2 bar you're looking at the better part of an hour to fill a bath.

If you're on gravity-fed plumbing and you use the bath regularly, choose a different range. If you're on a combi or mains pressure, it's perfectly usable.

Bath filler or bath shower mixer?

A bath filler (this one) just fills the bath. A bath shower mixer adds a diverter and handset if you need to shower over the bath.

Before you order

Bath fillers use 3/4" BSP connections, larger than the 1/2" on basin taps, so check your existing tails.

Kartell's spec lists a click waste with this tap. A click waste is a basin fitting, not a bath one, so treat that as a misprint — assume you'll need a bath waste and overflow set separately, ideally square-profile to match the tap.

Living with it

The ceramic disc cartridge with quarter-turn operation is far less prone to dripping than a washer tap. Square profiles give limescale more corners to sit in, so a regular wipe keeps it sharp in a hard water area.
