Kartell K-VIT Phase Bath Shower Mixer – Chrome (TAP037PH)

Kartell K-VIT Phase Bath Shower Mixer – Chrome (TAP037PH)

The Kartell K-VIT Phase range is built on a square base with a flat, blade-like spout — a crisp modern shape that suits square sanitaryware and a contemporary room. This is the bath shower mixer: a deck-mounted bath tap with a diverter and a shower handset on a flexible hose.

What it does

It fills the bath like a normal bath filler, and the diverter sends water to the handset instead — so you can shower over the bath, rinse hair, or clean the bath itself without a separate shower installation.

If you already have a separate shower and only need to fill the bath, the Phase bath filler costs less and keeps the line of the spout clean — which is rather the point of a blade-spout design.

Be realistic about pressure

Kartell list Phase as suitable for low pressure systems, and the taps do work there — but this is a restricted-flow range. The Phase bath filler manages 3.7 l/min at 0.2 bar, where the Plan equivalent manages 9.3.

On a combi or mains pressure this is a perfectly good tap and the handset will give a usable shower. On gravity-fed plumbing it will be slow to fill and the handset will be a weak spray — weaker than most ranges. If that's your setup and you shower over the bath regularly, Plan or Mirage will serve you better, or budget for a pump.

Before you order

Bath taps use 3/4" BSP connections, larger than the 1/2" on basin taps, so check your existing tails.

The waste is sold separately — ideally square-profile to match the tap. Note the Phase basin mixers include a click waste; this doesn't.

Living with it

The ceramic disc cartridge with quarter-turn operation is far less prone to dripping than a washer tap. Square profiles give limescale more corners to sit in, so a regular wipe keeps it sharp in a hard water area.

The rest of the Phase range

The range also includes a mini mono basin mixer with click waste, a mono basin mixer with click waste and a bath filler.
