What flow will I actually get?

Kartell publish figures for Phase, and they're worth reading before you buy because this is a restricted-flow tap:

For comparison, the Plan basin mixer delivers 8.8 l/min at 1 bar — nearly double this one. A basin tap starts to feel comfortable around 6 l/min, which Phase only reaches at about 2 bar.

What that means in practice: on a combi or good mains pressure, fine. On gravity-fed plumbing with a loft tank, this will feel noticeably slow — it works, but you'll be waiting to fill a basin. If your pressure is low and flow matters to you, Plan or Mirage are the better choice.

The flip side, if you want it: lower flow means less water used, which some people actively want.

For sizing, the tap stands 135mm tall on a 49mm square base, with the spout reaching 95mm out over the bowl. Measure that 95mm against the distance from your tap hole to the middle of the basin.

Living with it

The ceramic disc cartridge with quarter-turn operation gives full flow from a small movement and is far less prone to dripping than a washer tap.

A flat blade spout gives a wide, thin stream rather than a round one — which looks good at pressure, but is the other reason this tap can feel weak on a low-pressure system.

Square profiles give limescale more corners to sit in than round ones, so in a hard water area a regular wipe keeps it sharp.

If your basin is a small cloakroom one, the Phase mini mono basin mixer is a shorter version of this tap and costs less.
