AKW 1200 Series Straight Stainless Steel Grab Rail – Satin or Matt Black, Choice of Length

AKW 1200 Series Straight Stainless Steel Grab Rail – Satin or Matt Black, Choice of Length

The AKW 1200 Series straight stainless steel grab rail brings designer looks to bathroom safety. A slim 32mm tube in 304 stainless steel, with concealed fixings and a minimalist profile, it gives dependable support when moving around the bathroom, getting in and out of the shower, or sitting down and standing up from the toilet – without looking clinical.

Choose satin stainless steel to sit alongside chrome and brushed fittings, or matt black, which also gives strong colour contrast against light walls. Lengths: 300mm, 450mm and 600mm. Each rail is rated to 150kg (23.5 stone).

Choosing length and finish

300mm suits compact spaces such as beside a basin; 450mm is ideal beside a toilet or bath; 600mm gives a longer handhold for a shower entrance or for fitting vertically. Match the finish to your taps and accessories – satin for a brushed steel look, matt black to coordinate with black brassware. For a softer curved shape in satin stainless steel, see the AKW 1200 Series curved grab rail.

Installation notes

A grab rail is only as strong as the wall it is fixed to. Always use fixings suited to the wall type (solid masonry, timber stud or plasterboard with noggins or a pattress board) and fit the rail with every fixing point used. Wall fixings are not normally supplied, because the right fixing depends on your wall. Check for hidden pipes and cables before drilling. Where a rail is being fitted for a specific person, an occupational therapist can advise on the best height and position.
