AKW 1800 Series Free Standing Pillar for Fold Up Rail – White (01802)

AKW 1800 Series Free Standing Pillar for Fold Up Rail – White (01802)

The AKW 1800 Series free standing pillar lets you install an AKW 1800 Series fold up toilet support rail where there is no suitable wall beside the toilet. Instead of fixing the rail to a wall, the rail is mounted on this floor-standing pillar, so support can be provided on the open side of a toilet – for example in a larger accessible toilet, a care home en-suite or a bathroom where the toilet sits away from the wall.

The pillar is finished in white and is designed to work with the AKW 1800 Series range of fold up (drop down) support rails.

Key features & benefits

• Mounts an AKW 1800 Series fold up rail where there is no wall
• Floor standing design
• White finish
• Ideal for the open (transfer) side of a toilet
• Suits accessible toilets, care homes and adapted bathrooms

Before you order

The pillar is sold on its own – the fold up rail is ordered separately. Choose the rail style (without leg, fixed leg or adjustable leg) and colour on the AKW 1800 Series fold up toilet support rail page. The pillar must be fixed securely to a solid floor, as it carries the full leverage of the rail when in use. If you are unsure whether your floor is suitable, or which combination of rail and pillar is right for the user, please call us on 0333 772 4162.

Installation notes

Install the pillar on a solid, level floor using fixings suited to the floor construction (fixings are not normally supplied). Position it so that the lowered rail sits at the correct distance from the toilet centre line for the user. Installation by a competent installer is recommended, and an occupational therapist can advise on the right position.
