AKW 3000 Series Fold Up Shower Seat with Back & Arms – Unpadded or Padded

AKW 3000 Series Fold Up Shower Seat with Back & Arms – Unpadded or Padded

The AKW 3000 Series fold up shower seat sits between the 2000 and 4000 Series: a sturdy wall-mounted seat with a back and individually folding arms, made from powder-coated aluminium and stainless steel and rated for users up to 30 stone (190kg). The seat and arms fold up out of the way when the shower is used standing, and the seat height is set at installation to suit the user.

Choose the seat unpadded with grey arms (03131), or with removable grey cushions on the seat and back (03131P) for extra comfort.

Choosing your seat

If the seat will be shared or needs to be cleaned frequently, the unpadded version is the simplest to keep hygienic. For a user who will sit for longer, the padded version is warmer and more comfortable. Spare seat and back cushions, a replacement arm set and the leg kit are on our AKW 1000 & 3000 Series spare parts page.

Installation notes

A wall-mounted shower seat is only as safe as the wall it is fixed to. Fit it to a solid masonry wall, or to a stud wall that has been properly reinforced with a pattress board or noggins, using fixings suited to the wall and the load. Wall fixings are not normally supplied, because the correct fixing depends on your wall. Check for hidden pipes and cables before drilling, and follow AKW's fitting instructions. Where the seat is being fitted for a specific person, an occupational therapist can advise on the best seat height and position.
