Shower waste pumps, valves and concealed plumbing all need to be reachable for servicing. The AKW 523 x 523mm access panel (30200) gives a large, neat opening in a wall, ceiling or boxing so you can get to the equipment without cutting into the finished room.

At 523 x 523mm it gives generous access to a shower waste pump such as the AKW DigiPump or Contour P12 (the P12 cover measures 210 x 330 x 190mm), and room to work on the valves and fittings around it.

A smaller 195 x 272mm panel (30202) is also available.

Where should I fit an access panel?

Fit the panel where you can reach the pump, its isolation valves and the electrical spur. Shower pumps need to stay accessible for servicing, so plan the panel position before boarding and tiling.

Planning access at the build stage saves a great deal of disruption later.
