AKW Bidet Wash & Dry Toilet Seat – Choice of Ergonomic or Consilio Seat & Water Entry
The AKW Bidet wash & dry toilet seat turns a toilet into a fully featured shower toilet. At the touch of a button it washes with warm water and then dries with warm air, so the user can stay clean and comfortable without toilet paper. It is mains fed and simple to fit, and because the bidet seat sits on top of the pan it can be moved to a different toilet later on – often avoiding the cost of replacing the whole toilet.
Choose between two seat styles and two water entry positions. The Ergonomic seat is contoured and wider, with a standard aperture that suits most UK toilet pans. The Consilio seat is a sleeker, contemporary design with a larger aperture that gives a flush, integrated look on AKW Livenza Plus, Navlin and Navlin Doc M sanitaryware. Side entry models take their water feed from the side and fit most existing toilets; bottom entry models take the water feed up through the pan for a completely concealed installation and are designed for AKW pans made for the bottom-entry bidet.

How to choose the right bidet seat
Side entry or bottom entry? If you are adding a bidet seat to an existing toilet, choose side entry – it fits most standard UK toilet pans and the water feed runs to the side of the seat. Choose bottom entry only if you are fitting one of AKW's pans made for the bottom-entry bidet, where the pipework is hidden inside the pan for a tidier, easier-to-clean installation with fewer trip hazards. If you are starting from scratch, a complete AKW Bidet wash & dry toilet pack includes the pan, cistern and bottom-entry bidet in one order.
Ergonomic or Consilio? The Ergonomic seat is the safest choice for compatibility with an existing pan and gives a wide, supportive seat. The Consilio seat has a larger opening and a modern look, and pairs perfectly with AKW Livenza Plus, Navlin and Navlin Doc M pans.
Who is it for? The AKW Bidet is used in homes, care homes, supported living and hospitals. It suits accessible bathrooms and care settings, and anyone who wants the hygiene and comfort of washing rather than wiping. An occupational therapist can advise if the bidet is being provided through an adaptation scheme.
Will it fit my toilet?
Check your pan against these measurements before ordering:
| Ergonomic seat | Consilio seat | |
|---|---|---|
| Seat width | 382mm | 354mm |
| Distance between the two seat fixing holes on the pan | 140–180mm | 140–180mm |
| Fixing holes to front of pan (adjustable range) | 400–462mm | 422–484mm |
| Flat area needed at the back of the pan | 369mm wide x 172mm deep | 369mm wide x 172mm deep |
If you are unsure, send us your pan's make and model or measurements and we will check it for you.
Installation notes
The bidet needs a mains cold water supply and a fused electrical supply near the toilet (the power cord is approx. 1.5m long), and must be installed by a competent plumber and electrician in line with current regulations. No specialist tools are needed. An optional AKW Sensor Operated Switch lets users start each function with a wave or a large button.

Frequently asked questions
Will the AKW Bidet fit my existing toilet?
The side-entry versions are designed to fit most UK toilet pans, and the Ergonomic seat has a standard aperture for the widest compatibility. Check your pan against the measurements in the "Will it fit my toilet?" table above, or send us your pan details and we will check.
Do I need an electrician?
Yes – the bidet needs a suitable electrical supply near the toilet, which must be installed by a qualified electrician.
Does it work with low water pressure?
Yes. Low-pressure mode keeps the bidet working at lower pressures, at a reduced flow rate.
Can a carer operate it?
Yes – the hand-held remote lets a carer control every function, supporting private, comfortable use.
What is the difference between side and bottom entry?
Side entry takes water in from the side and fits most pans. Bottom entry hides the water feed inside an AKW pan designed for it.
