AKW Brereton P Shaped Walk In Shower Bath – 1675 x 750/850mm, Left or Right Hand Door

AKW Brereton P Shaped Walk In Shower Bath – 1675 x 750/850mm, Left or Right Hand Door

The AKW Brereton P shaped walk in bath gives you the best of both worlds – a bath and a spacious shower area – with a step-through door so there is no climbing over the side. The bath widens to 850mm at the shower end and comes with a 6mm toughened glass shower screen.

The inward-opening door has a simple button-operated mechanism. Available with a left or right hand door, as the bath only or with a matching end panel.

Key features & benefits

• P-shaped walk-in shower bath – wider at the showering end for a roomy shower area.
• 6mm toughened glass shower screen with a bright silver trim.
• Inward-opening door with a button-operated mechanism.
• Slip-resistant base in the shower area.
• Step-in height of 235mm (outer).
• Left or right hand door, with an optional end panel.

Choosing your Brereton

Left or right hand door? The left and right hand models are mirror images of each other. Check the plan drawing on AKW's specification sheet (below) against your room – the door must face the open part of the room and the tap end should sit against the wall with your plumbing. If you are unsure, send us a sketch of your bathroom and call 0333 772 4162.

Bath only or with panel? The end panel finishes off the exposed end of the bath for a neat, built-in look. Choose "Bath Only" if the bath will be boxed in by walls or you plan your own panelling.

Measuring up: check the bath footprint against your room, make sure the door can open fully inside the bath, and check access to the room – walk-in baths are large and must be carried in through doorways and up stairs. Our team can talk you through it on 0333 772 4162.

Who it suits

Walk-in baths are designed with a low, easy step-in entry instead of a high bath side – suited to accessible bathrooms, assisted bathing and anyone who wants to enjoy a bath at home independently. They are popular in home adaptations, sheltered housing and care settings.

Installation notes

• Installation should be carried out by an experienced bathroom fitter. The door seal relies on the bath being level, so the floor must be strong and flat.
• Taps, waste connection and any electrical work for optional extras must be fitted by qualified installers.
• Leave access to the door seal and waste for future servicing.
