The AKW electric shower care accessory kit is the riser rail, hose and handset kit that AKW supplies with its SmartCare care showers, sold here on its own. Use it to replace a worn or damaged kit, to upgrade a standard kit to the care version, or to change the colour of the riser rail – for example to a high-contrast mid grey or dark blue rail for an accessible bathroom.

The kit is designed for the AKW SmartCare Plus and AKW SmartCare Lever electric showers. The shower heater itself is not included – the photographs show the kit fitted with a SmartCare shower.

How to choose your kit

Chrome gives a domestic look that suits a family bathroom. White with a white rail is the classic care finish. White with a mid grey or dark blue rail gives strong colour contrast against light walls, making the rail and handset easier to find.

Installation notes

The riser rail fixes to the wall below the shower and the hose connects to the outlet of the shower. Because the rail is load-bearing, fix it into a solid wall or suitable reinforcement with fixings appropriate to the wall. Follow the instructions supplied by AKW.

Is the shower included?

No. This is the accessory kit only (riser rail, hose, handset, holders and shelf). The SmartCare shower heater is sold separately.

Can I hold on to the riser rail?

Yes. AKW rates the care kit riser rail to 150kg load-bearing so it can be used as a support rail.

Why choose a mid grey or dark blue rail?

The coloured rail contrasts with a light wall so it is easier to see, for clear visibility.

Will it fit my iTherm or iSure shower?
