AKW Ergonomic Toilet Seat – Choice of Colour, With or Without Lid
The AKW Ergonomic Toilet Seat is designed for people who need a more stable, supportive seat – especially anyone transferring sideways onto the toilet from a wheelchair. Strong metal hinges and seat lugs that grip the inside of the pan stop the seat sliding during transfer, while the contoured shape is comfortable to sit on. It is the seat AKW supplies in its Doc M toilet packs and suits Navlin Doc M and other standard toilet pans.
Choose white, blue, dark blue or mid grey, with or without a lid. The coloured seats contrast with a white pan, making the toilet seat easy to find.
Key features & benefits
- Seat lugs grip the inside of the pan for stability during side transfer.
- Strong metal soft-close hinges – the seat lowers gently and quietly.
- Contoured for comfort and easy to keep clean.
- Contrasting colours – blue, dark blue and mid grey for visibility, or classic white.
- With or without lid – the lid-free version is often preferred in care settings and Doc M toilets with a low-level cistern and back rest.
- Made from tough urea formaldehyde.
Choosing your seat
Colour: Doc M guidance asks for fittings that contrast with their surroundings – a coloured seat on a white pan is easy to see. Lid: choose without a lid if a back rest sits behind the toilet or the user leans back against the cistern; choose with a lid for a neater look. Check that your pan is a standard size: the seat is 375mm wide and 435mm deep. Need help? Call 0333 772 4162.
Installation notes
- Fits through the standard rear hinge holes of the toilet pan.
- Position the seat so the lugs sit inside the pan rim before tightening the hinges.
