AKW flat coloured wall tiles are large-format 600 x 300mm glazed ceramic tiles for bathroom walls – around the bath, inside the shower or as a splashback behind a basin. The coloured tiles have a digitally printed stone-effect design that stays consistent from tile to tile.

Choose from Metropol Light Grey Matt, Rockwell Beige and Salerno Grey (packs of 10 tiles covering 1.8m²) or Flat Gloss Plain White (packs of 9 tiles covering 1.62m²).

How many packs do I need?

Measure the height and width of each wall in metres, multiply to get the area, and add the walls together. Take away doors and windows, then add 10% for cuts and breakages. Divide the total by 1.8m² (coloured tiles) or 1.62m² (gloss white) and round up to whole packs.

Example: a 2.0m x 1.2m shower wall plus two 2.0m x 0.9m side walls = 6.0m². Add 10% = 6.6m², which is 4 packs of a coloured tile. Order all packs together so they come from the same batch. Call 0333 772 4162 if you would like us to check your figures.

A tiling checklist. For a long-lasting tiled bathroom, start with a flat, sound base – tile backer board fixed with backer washers and screws is ideal on stud walls and where old plaster is poor. Fix ceramic wall tiles with a suitable adhesive such as Bond it Supergrip, keep joints even with tile spacers, and allow the adhesive to dry fully before grouting with Steri-Grout. Finish exposed edges with a tile trim and use a tile-to-vinyl transition strip where tiles meet safety flooring.
