The AKW Larenco Duo Stable Shower Door is a full-height glass door split into an upper and a lower section, like a stable door. The two halves are joined by AKW's spring-operated Duolinx handle, so they open together as a normal full-height door — or the top half can be swung open on its own so a carer can help from outside the shower while the lower half keeps the water in.

How to choose your Larenco configuration

1. Layout. Choose Alcove if the shower area has walls on three sides and the screen closes the open front. Choose Corner if there are walls on two sides only — the door goes across the front and a fixed side panel (or a second door) closes the open side.

2. Front width. Measure the opening wall to wall, at the top, middle and bottom, and use the smallest figure. Standard widths are a single door; extended widths such as 1200mm (400 + 800) combine the door with one or two fixed 400mm (or 420mm) inline panels to span a wider opening.

3. Side panel or second door. For a corner layout, measure the depth of the shower area from the back wall to the front line of the screen and choose the matching side panel. A second door option gives a corner entry with doors on both open sides, for the widest possible access.

• Fit the screen onto a finished wet floor, wet floor former or suitable shower tray; Larenco is compatible with tiled or safety-vinyl (e.g. Altro) floors.
• Not suitable for Multi Spec or pipe duct shower trays.
• Each side has profile adjustment; for out-of-true or wider walls, add the appropriate Larenco compensator (sold separately).

Frequently asked questions

Can the top and bottom sections open separately? Yes. The Duolinx handle links the two halves so they open together, but you can release it and open just the top section — useful when a carer is helping from outside.

Is the Larenco screen suitable for a wet room? Yes. Larenco screens are designed for wet floors and wet floor formers as well as shower trays, with tiled or slip-resistant safety flooring. They are not suitable for Multi Spec or pipe duct trays.

Is it left or right handed? Larenco doors are non-handed, so the same screen can be fitted to open either way. Decide which wall you want the hinge on when you install it.

What does “Extended” mean, e.g. 1200mm (400 + 800)? Extended widths add one or two 400mm (or 420mm) fixed inline panels beside the door, so the screen can span a wider opening. A 1200mm (400 + 800) screen is an 800mm door with a 400mm fixed panel.

What if my walls are not straight? Each screen has profile adjustment on both sides. For walls that are badly out of true, or wider than the adjustment allows, AKW makes Larenco compensators — ask us and we will help you choose the right one.
