AKW Onyx Exclusif Low Level Shower Tray – Choice of Size, Colour & Waste

AKW Onyx Exclusif Low Level Shower Tray – Choice of Size, Colour & Waste

The AKW Onyx Exclusif shower tray is a stylish, slimline shower tray designed for accessible bathrooms – for wheelchair users and carers – without the clinical look. At just 26mm deep it can sit on the floor for a low-level step-in shower, or be recessed into the floor for true level-access showering. The textured surface gives a reliably high level of slip resistance, and the tray supports up to 31.5 stone (200kg).

Made from SMC (sheet moulding compound) with a rigid, webbed underside, the Onyx Exclusif is strong, shock and impact resistant, yet lightweight for quick installation. Choose from 21 sizes from 800 x 800mm up to the 2000 x 1000mm XL tray, in white or (in most sizes) black, and add the matching AKW waste – gravity, dry or pumped – in the same order.

Choosing your tray and waste

Size. Measure the finished floor area of the shower, wall to wall, and allow for any screen or curtain position. Square trays (800 x 800 and 900 x 900mm) suit corner showers; rectangular trays from 1000 x 700mm upwards give wheelchair users and carers room to move. The XL 2000 x 1000mm tray is available in white.

Colour. White suits most bathrooms; black makes a strong design statement and gives good colour contrast against light floors and walls.

Waste. The GW90 gravity waste suits trays where there is enough fall for the water to drain by gravity. The DW90 dry waste is the alternative AKW waste for the tray. The PW90 22mm pumped waste is for installations where the water must be pumped away using a shower waste pump. If you are unsure which you need, call us on 0333 772 4162.

For a tray installed on the floor, add an Onyx Exclusif ramp to give a gentle slope for wheelchairs and shower chairs.

Installation notes

Install on a flat, level, fully supported base. For level-access installations the floor must be recessed to the tray depth with the waste and pipework planned in advance – a sunken floor or a suitable floor former is needed. Follow AKW's fitting instructions and seal the tray to the walls with a suitable silicone sealant.
